About
Modern Prop Hire. Sustainable solutions.
Action Props was founded to address a growing challenge within Liverpool's thriving film and television industry: the lack of accessible local prop hire and the unnecessary waste created when productions dispose of valuable items at the end of a shoot. Between our four directors, we bring decades of hands-on experience working within props departments, meaning we understand the day-to-day demands of production because we live them ourselves. We created Action Props to modernise the prop hire process, making it easier, more efficient, and more sustainable for productions working across the UK.
Sustainability is at the heart of what we do. Our commitment to reducing waste and extending the life of furniture and props has led us to work alongside the Albert programme, the leading organisation promoting sustainable practices within the film and television industry. Through this approach, items that are no longer required by productions can be reused, repurposed, or donated, ensuring they continue to provide value rather than ending up in landfill.
We're equally passionate about supporting our local community. By working with local organisations, donating furniture and equipment to women's shelters, and providing training equipment for youth football teams, we aim to ensure that the resources we handle create a positive impact both within and beyond the screen industries.
As Liverpool continues to establish itself as the UK's second most filmed city and the most filmed city outside London, we believe that strong local infrastructure is essential to supporting its continued growth. Alongside our extensive range of furniture and prop hire, we help productions source warehouse and workshop spaces for prop storage, set dressing preparation, and department operations. By providing practical support to production design and props teams from pre-production through to wrap, we help productions build efficient local bases, keeping investment, jobs, and expertise within the region. Our goal is not only to support individual productions but to play an active role in strengthening Liverpool's film and television infrastructure for years to come.
